Banggai is the name of a region in East Sulawesi that is still part of Central Sulawesi Province. Banggai has three district-level government areas, namely Luwuk Banggai Regency, which has its capital in Luwuk City and an area of 9,673 km2. Next there is Banggai Islands Regency, whose capital is Salakan City with an area of 2,498 km2, and finally there is Banggai Laut Regency, whose capital is Banggai City with an area of 725.7 km2.
